Face masks have evolved from a health requirement into something of a fashion accessory in recent months, as the public comes to accept mask wearing as the new norm. Several big names including adidas and Under Armour have even unveiled their own branded masks, with fashion label Ralph Lauren now set to follow suit.

The brand recently revealed that it will be dropping a face mask collection featuring two different models, with each design to feature the famous polo player logo. The first model, titled the Polo Cloth Mask, will be crafted from the label's shirting fabric and will feature a treated cotton lining and mouldable nose bridge.

It will also have an additional two layers of non-woven filtration and can be washed up to 20 times.

The fashionable mask will be available in a range of colourways and designs including plain, check and striped options.

The Polo Filtration Mask has meanwhile been described by Ralph Lauren as its "most advanced option", boasting 95% particle filtration. Made from polyester, the washable, multilayer mask will come complete with a disposable microporous filter and filter replacement indicator.

It will also feature a customisable fit with fully adjustable ear loops and shapeable nose bridge. Unlike the bold designs featured in the cloth mask range, the Filtration Mask will have a more simplistic style offering of minimalist black or collegiate navy.

Both face mask models are set to drop in fall 2020 (springtime here in Australia), meaning that we should see them become available within the next couple of months. To be the first to know when the designs land, you can sign up for notifications on the Ralph Lauren site. A price point is yet to be announced.

It is also yet to be revealed whether the masks will be exclusive to the Ralph Lauren site or whether they will be available in usual stockists such as David Jones, THE ICONIC and ASOS too.

For every mask it sells, Ralph Lauren will also donate 50% of the purchase price to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO. The pledge comes after the company previously donated $10 million to various charities earlier in the year.

"At the heart of our Company, there has always been a spirit of togetherness that inspires our creativity, our confidence and most importantly our support for one another. In the past weeks and months, that spirit has never wavered," said Ralph Lauren, executive chairman and chief creative officer in a statement.

"We believe that no matter who you are or where you are from, we are all connected. That is why we are taking significant action to help our teams and communities through this crisis."

Products marked as 'Promoted' or 'Advertisement' are prominently displayed either as a result of a commercial advertising arrangement or to highlight a particular product, provider or feature. Finder may receive remuneration from the Provider if you click on the related link, purchase or enquire about the product. When products are grouped in a table or list, the order in which they are initially sorted may be influenced by a range of factors including price, fees and discounts; commercial partnerships; product features; and brand popularity. We provide tools so you can sort and filter these lists to highlight features that matter to you.

We try to take an open and transparent approach and provide a broad-based comparison service. However, you should be aware that while we are an independently owned service, our comparison service does not include all providers or all products available in the market.

Some product issuers may provide products or offer services through multiple brands, associated companies or different labelling arrangements. This can make it difficult for consumers to compare alternatives or identify the companies behind the products. However, we aim to provide information to enable consumers to understand these issues.
